Strobist Portrait shoot in Twyford nr Winchester

I attended a Strobist portrait session yesterday organised this month by Jon Read - it's a great way to mix with other wedding and portrait photographers and some people just coming along for a play. We get a great venue, a great set of models and just let our minds go to town. For me the purpose of these shoots isn't to come away with commercial / sellable images, it's a time i can push myself out of my comfort zone, find out what does/doesn't work without having to worry about getting a set of prints to show at the end of that.

Of course i normally end up with some great shots at the end - this time we had quite a few alternative models in attendance and one thing i've wanted to try was to get some nice moody skies and really drop away the ambient (bright) sunlight to make the images look different from my wedding images and add some mood to them.
